FITBA GEAR was born from a simple truth there is no word in the English language that captures the game quite like Fitba. Not football. Not soccer. Fitba. The way it sounds coming out of a Paisley mouth on a Saturday morning. Now, for some it's Fitbaw — and that's just like Mc or Mac. Either way, it's your chant when your team runs out.

I grew up in Paisley, Scotland, moved to Winnipeg as a teenager, made my way through Toronto, and eventually settled in Virginia after living in several states. The accents changed a wee bit depends on the bevvy. The weather changed. The passion never did.

In 1998 I was in the stands at the opening game of the World Cup Scotland vs Brazil. My two teenage boys by my side, a nation behind us. One of those nights you never forget, even when the result is not the one you wanted. The bus trip from London to Paris with the Tartan Army was unforgettable and the boys still talk about it.

Twenty-eight years later, Scotland are back and the time was right to launch a wee dream of mine.

FITBA GEAR is for every Scot who packed their boots and carried the game with them. For the Tartan Army faithful spread around the world still singing, still believing, still showing up.
